Hi, I’m Lihan “Neil” Zhu.
I’m the founder of Memoria and a product/UX designer. I build clear, thoughtful experiences by listening closely to the people who use them.

WHERE IT BEGAN
It began with
my grandparents.
They showed me both sides of the same truth: how easily a life story can remain untold, and how much it can carry when it is preserved.
The pages she never finished
My grandmother tried to write down her life story, but holding a pen had become difficult. After a little more than a page, she stopped. She never had the chance to finish.
The stories he left behind
My grandfather spent years writing his memoir, Third-Line Memories. I am now translating it into English, so more people can read the life and history he preserved.
I built Memoria to make starting a little easier.
A way to leave your story in your own words, and your own voice.

She recorded them from early April to mid-July. One question about travel brought back memories of India; that recording lasted 83 minutes.

Can I try Memoria today?
Yes. The iOS beta is available through Apple TestFlight. Install TestFlight, then open the invitation to join. It is a preview version, and your feedback helps shape the app.

Of course. Record your own experiences, record together with a family member, or help someone preserve the stories they want to share.
What happens to the original recording?
The original audio stays with the memory, alongside its transcript. You can listen again and edit the text. Text size can also be increased to make reading more comfortable.
Why Kickstarter, if the app already works?
Memoria is already in beta. Kickstarter will help bring it to public release and connect us with families whose feedback can guide what comes next, including the languages they need most.
